Snippets & Snatches......rain...rain...rain...70*

Remember these jar rubbers? How many of us used these to can our vegetables with the bail type jars? Remember if they weren't very hot you couldn't stretch them over the jar? On the end flap of the wide mouth box, it's stamped .45 cents! When these were being phased out in the '70's I ordered a whole case from the local hardware store. I wonder if I'll find them in the attic. Anyway, while visiting in Virginia one year a lady showed me this craft. Crocheting around them and weaving the circles together to make a hot mat.
Did any of you out there ever do this?
