August in the Country
AUGUST IS
Last of the hot summer days
Foggy morning mists
Quickly blown away
By violent thunder storms
AUGUST IS
Grouchy snakes
And
humans too
Plodding through the heat
Everyone anticipating
Cooler days ahead
AUGUST IS
Crops
receding
Flowers
pleading
For
just some drops of rain
Morning
Glories give blooms a try
Soon the Orb Weavers will stop by
AUGUST IS
Bending, stooping and scooping
Hoping the harvest will meet
The effort put in
Throughout
the heat
To make it all worthwhile
AUGUST IS
Too hot to cut wood
But maybe you should
Now the dreaded El Nino's
forecast to blow
