Old Fashioned Oatmeal Cookies....Partly cloudy...70's

I hope everyone still makes Oatmeal Cookies. This is a commemorative Tin I got years ago from the Quaker Oat Co. Most of the names of oat companies on the tin I had never heard of. Do any of you recognize these: Buckeye Rolled Oats, Quaker White Oats, German Mills Oatmeal, Breakfast Oats, Douglas Stuart's Rolled Oats, Columbian White Oats, Quaker Mills Oatmeal and Howers Akron Oatmeal??  Seems to me everyone ate oatmeal in those days! Anyway here's a recipe for those of you who don't have a favorite.

                   Oatmeal Cookies

3/4 cup margarine

1 1/4 cups brown sugar

1 egg

1 tsp. vanilla or maple

1 cup all purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking soda

2 cups uncooked quick oats

Optional, raisins, walnuts, choc. chips or combination to equal 1 cup

Optional, substitute 1/4 margarine with 1/4 cup peanut butter

Mix all together except oats. Stir in oats until just mixed.
Bake at 350 between 10-15 minutes. Let cool before removing.
