Icing on the cake....Partly cloudy...cooler

It doesn't really matter what kind of cake you put this on, if you love chocolate you'll love this frosting, and it'll be 'the icing on the cake' everyone is talking about!

Fudge Frosting

4 Tablespoons butter
6 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 cups powdered sugar
1-3 Tablespoons milk

In small sauce pan melt butter, remove from heat and stir in cocoa powder, till smooth, it will be very thick.
In a large bowl add cocoa mixture to the sugar along with 1 Tablespoon of milk, beat, adding milk as needed to get a smooth spreadable consistency, (you want it thick, but spreadable)
If you don't have a favorite scratch cake recipe try it on this one!

Delicious White Cake

2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp. Baking powder
3 eggs, separated
1 1/2 cups sugar
2/3 cup shortening
1 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and shortening together, add egg yolks and vanilla cream until smooth, in separate bowl beat egg whites till stiff but not dry.
alternate flour and baking powder combined with milk to sugar mixture, lastly fold in egg whites, Pour into a greased 9 x 9 inch pan and bake at 350* 25-35 minutes or till tests done (toothpick inserted near center comes out clean)
cool completely and frost.

This recipe comes from one of my favorite ladies, a mother of ten, who still found time to cook delicious meals for her family.... back before 'convenience food' was even heard of ! I talked about her and shared another of her recipes in our Everything season cookbook, available HERE in digital format or in printed format by messaging us through our FB page HERE
